The
Seneca Park Zoo
IS
The Natural
Place for Families!
Explore one of
Greater Rochesters most popular family attractions. The Seneca Park
Zoo is nestled within 15.5 acres along the Genesee River. A stroll
along our tree-lined pathways feels like a walk in your favorite
park. Be sure to experience the Zoos state-of-the-art exhibit, A
Step Into Africa, which is the only exhibit in the United States
focusing on the Ngorongoro Crater region of Tanzania. The exhibit
treats visitors to a simulated African safari, right here in
Rochester! Three African lions, a troop of olive baboons and two
African elephants are the stars of this exhibit that opened in May
2012.
The Zoos renovated Penguin Exhibit
features a remodeled pool, wider beach and an island keepers can
stand on while feeding the birds. These impressive upgrades round
out your experience at Rocky Coasts, which is also home to our polar
bears and sea lions. Complete your experience by visiting with New
York States only Bornean orangutans and white rhinoceroses. And, as
always, be sure to say hello to our meerkats, snow leopards and
Mexican wolves.
